We were happy to be commissioned to provide a Flag Pole memorial stone in memory of the 339th Fighter Group to be placed at Fowlmere Old Airfield.

A light grey Granite desk style memorial was supplied with an incised and black enamelled inscription, together with red and white checks to symbolise the same design as on the original fighter planes.

The war memorial was fitted where required in the Airfield together with a flagpole and flag. The 339th Fighter Group were based in Fowlmere in 1944. The unveiling of the flagpole was held at the final 339th fighter group reunion, two veteran’s were present Bill Moore and Bill MacClarence.
