Our client contacted us, wanting the front elevation of their property to be returned to it original stunning Victorian beauty, this meant we needed to have an end result showing the original natural stone colour and detailing.

Because the Stone on their Victorian bay window had been repaired and painted many times over the years it was difficult to judge exactly whether stripping the paint from the stone would be economically worthwhile; therefore we gave the client different options for the repairs from essential repairs through to completed stone replacement. We decided that most of the stone looked good enough to carefully strip the paint from the masonry, enabling us to carry out the additional conditioning.

Once this was done, another assessment was carried with the client to finalize the extent of the stone replacement. Roughly 50% of the original stone was salvaged and reused.

We also carried out repairs to the ornate brick dental courses and rubbed the flat brick arches at high level. Lime mortar re-pointing was also carried out in a sympathetic manor.

Update:- We were asked as promised to go back to remove the old pathway to the front door and replace it with Victorian floor tiles.  This has finished the property off lovely and its restored back to its original beauty.  We are very happy with the results and so is the client.
